What is Worship?
The Lord is worthy of worship, as the one true and living God. We were made to worship Him. Worship can be defined as our response to who God is and what He has done, both as our Creator and Redeemer. According to Romans 12:1-2, our spiritual act of worship as believers is to offer our very bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God. All of life is an opportunity for us to worship God. The breath in our lungs and the hearts beating in our chests means we are alive and able to respond to our Creator.
Our worship as a church is a time where we gather to remember God’s faithfulness and declare that He has bought us with the blood of Jesus Christ. We have been redeemed from the bondage of our sins and are free to worship Him. We do so through singing, praying, giving, preaching, and celebrating the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
