Who We Are

Compelled by love, we exist to glorify God through making disciples of Jesus Christ.

Believe the Gospel

What we believe shapes who we are. We desire to grow deeper in our understanding of who God is and what He has done that we might see Christ formed in our lives through His power working in us.

Engage in Community

Life is meant to be lived with others. We are committed to loving as Christ has loved us through serving, encouraging and calling one another to Christlikeness.

Live on Mission

We all give our lives to something. We are passionate about making the most of every opportunity to see the gospel proclaimed and Christ glorified in our neighborhoods and the nations.

Seeking God

Seeking God:

Believing God has first revealed Himself to us, we actively pursue Him through prayer, scripture, worship, and the other disciplines of grace.

Evaluate:
When you consider your relationship with Jesus, which of the following best describes it? Is He a distant stranger, a casual acquaintance, a helpful guide in times of need, a close friend you connect with often, or the dearest companion you walk with daily?

What are some practical steps you can take this week to seek God in a deeper way?

Action Step Ideas:

  • Keep a prayer journal to track prayers and God’s answers over time.
  • Use your commute, exercise, or housecleaning time to listen to worship music and reflect on the character of God through song. You can listen to the WJ Worship Playlist Here:
  • Go on a prayer walk by yourself or with others.
  • Create a time in your daily schedule that you can intentionally spend alone with God.

Shaped by the Scriptures

Shaped by the Scriptures no background

Shaped by the Scriptures:

We seek to be transformed into the image of Jesus through submitting to God’s Word and applying it to every aspect of our lives.

Evaluate:

Is God’s Word the primary influence shaping your thoughts, values, and actions? What evidence in your life supports your answer?

Action Step Ideas:

What practical steps can you take this week to allow the Scriptures to shape your life? (We’ve listed a few ideas below to help you get started!)

  • Use a Bible reading plan.
  • Memorize scripture, letting God write His word on your heart. Consider setting up Versify (an app that helps with Bible memorization).
  • Choose a Psalm or a chapter and spend the day re-reading and meditating on it. Be open to how God may be speaking to you through His Word.
  • Write a Bible verse on a sticky note and place it somewhere visible (mirror, desk, dashboard).

Serving the Body

3 Serving the Body No background

Serving the Body:

With servant hearts, we devote our gifts, time, and resources to strengthen and build up the church.

Evaluate:

How does knowing that your worth is already secure in Christ change the way you approach serving others?

Action Steps:

What are some practical ways you can use your gifts, time, and resources to strengthen and build up the church? (We’ve listed a few ideas below to help you get started!)

• Consider serving in a ministry on Wednesday night or Sunday morning. To find what is needed, you can click here to let us know you’re interested in serving or call the church office. One of our Ministry Team Leaders will contact you.

• Consider how you can serve someone by inviting them into your home or using a skill you have to meet a need.

• Send an encouraging note, text, or make a phone call to someone who might need it. Look for small ways to show kindness to others, like holding a door open, offering a kind word, or helping a coworker.

• Consider taking a short spiritual gifts survey. Click here to take an online survey.

Submitting to One Another

4 Submitting to one another no background

Submitting to One Another:

We walk together in relationships rooted in love and committed to humility, encouragement, and accountability.

Evaluate:

Spend a few moments considering all the ways Jesus humbly submitted Himself to serve you.

Action Steps:

In what ways is He leading you to follow in His steps in your relationships with others? (We’ve listed a few steps below to help you get started!)

• Consider someone who has helped you in your relationship with Jesus through praying for you, encouraging or even rebuking you when needed. Do something to show them your appreciation.

• Is there someone you need to forgive? Make the decision to forgive them or apologize to them and take a step towards reconciliation with that person.

• Join a Wednesday night midweek Discipleship Group. (Adult Bible Study meets on Wednesdays at 6pm in the Generations Hall with Discipleship Groups following at 6:30pm. You can view the full Wednesday night schedule here.)

• Ask others how you can pray for them and pray with them there or write down their requests so you can remember to pray.
