Discover West Jackson

• GOSPEL. The most important news that we have to share at West Jackson is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And the most important thing we do week after week is proclaim that message so that people from all backgrounds and every generation can come to know and receive God’s grace. We want to be a church that experiences the transforming power of God.
• COMMUNITY. We believe the good news about Jesus is more than just a story or set of written beliefs. It is the life-changing power of God that is meant to be woven into every area of our lives. But that change doesn’t happen when we are on our own. That change happens through authentic and godly relationships within the church. As we commit to share our lives with other believers in biblical community, we begin to see God do amazing things in and around us!
• MISSION. Under the authority of Jesus, by the power of the Holy Spirit, the Church has been given a Great Commission: “Go and make disciples of all nations…” (Matthew 28:19) Jesus has also given us a Great Commandment that should mark our lives and our churches: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart… and love your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27). The heartbeat of a church consumed with God’s grace and glory continues to overflow as we see the nations and people groups around the world that do not know the Gospel of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:14-21).

We have five all-ins of West Jackson that describe what it means to be a part of our Gospel Community on a mission:

1. ENGAGE in corporate worship each week. Join other believers from all ages as we fulfill one of the major reasons we have been redeemed – to worship God together!

2. CONNECT with a community group. It is important that you are regularly connected to a group of believers, studying and living out God’s Word together.

3. SERVE in a ministry role. You have been gifted by God to build up the local church. You can sing in the choir, teach a child, hold a door, or serve in any number of ways. Find a place and get plugged in!

4. INVEST & INVITE those who are unchurched around you to take steps towards Jesus. We all live on a missions field! Look around and see how God wants you to invest your life in others to help lead them to Jesus.

5. GIVE generously as we seek to pull together in order to impact this city and the world. The church is God’s plan to share His message of hope and redemption to the world. Our giving helps fuel this mission and reveals Jesus as our true treasure.
